Overview 
The Gray Whale is found in coastal waters of the Pacific Ocean. Whaling has greatly reduced its population over the years; the Atlantic Gray Whale was hunted into extinction as early as the 17th or 18th centuries. Today there are between 15,000 and 25,000 Gray Whales remaining.
